Gotcha Day

Today I got to go to my new home. A nice man named Darren saw my blog and said that I could come live with him. He has a lot of land, trees (yeah), and creek to explore. I also get to be inside whenever I want. I am sad to leave my family, but, it will be nice to have someone take me walking, jogging and hiking. Maybe I can post more pics of my new home soon. Thanks for taking the time to read my journal.

On my last day at home, I got to go for a quick walk while the toddler took a nap. I also got brushed and my favorite...a bath!

Peek a boo

One of my favorite games is Peek a boo. I started playing this when I would get my bath and my owner would towel me off. It has become a fun thing to do. I also really like to dry off when I come in after the rain. All you have to do is place a towel in the floor and I will stay there while you dry me off. I will even allow you to use baby wipes to clean off my muddy paws!

Ruuffff, as far as the blue bow, don't ask...

Laid back Sunday afternoon

This is the life...a rug, a window full of sunshine, and a child taking her nap so I can relax.
Do you have a rug I could slumber on? Better yet, a window where the sun pours in? Even better, a glass storm door I can nap by and occasionally awake to see a bird or stray dog pass by?

Just a swinging

Okay, not me, but the toddler got to. I however nibbled on some grass and rolled around. Sounds good doesn't it? Saturday's are my day off and there is nothing like having some time in the sun. If you need some time in the sun, why not have me with you?

Old Blue Eyes

So, are you wondering why my ear is floppy? I would like to make up a cool story about being in the service, one too many and a good looking poodle...but, the truth is my old man's ears did the same thing, so I guess I got it from him.

Yep, that's me getting pawed by my cat. I let him win.

Ready for my bath, please.

All curled up with no where to go

Well, it's another day and my owner is still taking care of their crying toddler. Meanwhile, I am dreaming of a long walk at Radnor Lake.

Single Male Dog Seeks New Home

Hi, my name is Lakota. I am a 5-year-old mixed breed dog. My owners were told that I am a Lab/Akita/Rhodesian Ridgeback. I am a brindle coloring and have clear blue eyes. Sometimes my eyes spook people, other times they woo people. I am a very sensitive, loyal and intelligent dog. Why doesn't my owner want me then? Well, they have a new child and they can't love me like they used to. I enjoy young children, as long as they are not my owners. I do well with older school agers and up who know how to love on me. Toddlers just want to get my owners love and never even pet me. I have never tried to hurt the child, I just want it to be me and my owners. My favorite pass time is lying on the rug and getting my tummy rubbed. I love to run outside in the backyard and go for walks. I am trained and will obey in the house or yard or when I am on a leash. I prefer to sleep inside on my bed. I will bring my bed and some dog food with me. I am a large breed dog that ONLY barks if someone is knocking on the door or when someone first arrives in the house (besides my masters). Funny but true, I have never, ever jumped up on my owners! Since I am so tall I don't have to:-) I also know how to hop in the tub to take my bath. I am a good watchdog and definitely get attention wherever I go. I presently live in town, but I would also do well on a farm as long as I have a place to snuggle up inside too. I also have two cats that live with me and I play with them every day. Please don't take this personally, but if you can't treat me like a baby then don't bother. I really like being the baby and loved on all of the time. I am would grow to be loyal to you and give you lots of love in return.

Here I am with my cat. I love to lay around on my bed.
